BGTA deals with Common Problems of Goods Transporters and takes the issues of policy matters to concerned Ministries and State/Central Govt. Departments such as Minister of Surface Transport, Home Ministry, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Minister of Finance, Minister of Labour, Transport Commissioners, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, Tariff Advisory Committee, etc. Besides BGTA looks after grievances of its members pertaining to day to day difficulties concerning Local and State Level authorities such as BMC, Labour Commissioner and Police Department.

BGTA has its own website namely http://www.bgta.in. BGTA also has its bimonthly House Journal “BGTA TIMES”. Besides BGTA publishes RED ALERT to highlight the Highway related crimes concerning its members. The Red Alert goes to All Concerned Ministries, Prime Minister of India, Chief Ministers of States, Police Head Quarters, Mantralaya and Media, besides all BGTA Members. BGTA also disseminate information on transport trade regularly to its members via BGTA COMMUNICATION.

BGTA has established an exemplary record of service to goods transport industry in general and to its members in particular. The Association (BGTA) has its representation on AIMTC, AITWA, MCCIA, IMC, FAM. It has representation on GTLB, which lays down standard of wages to mathadi labours for doing loading/unloading work.

BGTA has its nominee in All India Association of Industries, Indian Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Committee -Central Excise and Service Tax Department, Zone I, Mumbai, Grievances Committee-Highway Traffic Police Maharashtra.

BGTA conducts Seminars, Workshops, Lectures enabling its members to remain abrupt of Latest developments. Recently it took part in transport related exhibitions such as the Mumbai Motor Show, The Mumbai Auto Show, and Pune Auto Show etc.

BGTA Membership Directory (Electoral Roll) is printed every year is innovative and public utility containing information of members with telephone numbers.

BGTA has already established Rehnal Village Complex where 68 plot/godown holders carry their warehousing and transshipment activities in Bhiwandi. BGTA had promoted BGTA Nhava Sheva Transporters’ Premises Society Ltd and building consisting 100 offices are in used of members.

BGTA has been allotted 56,888 sq. mtr lands by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority at Wadala for Wadala Truck Terminal Project. Around 900 transport members have booked their offices/godowns in Phase – I. Govt. of Maharashtra/Mumbai Municipal Corporation has granted necessary permissions and the construction is in progress. BGTA also has requested MMRDA for allotment of Land in 2nd Phase for its remaining members.
